In Paris it was the beginning of her career. Then she went through hell, through the world wars, and fought for peace: Käthe Kollwitz – her images and sculptures are nowadays witnesses of her times as well as modern memorials. With her aesthetics she refers and points at how art will be in the future and how it is in fact in the present. Graphic novelists, cartoonists and artist of today look at her work with their contemporary attitude and create an own world.
