An extraordinary man brings an unknown Armenian instrument from a silent movie theatre in Yerevan to Hollywood: Djivan Gasparyan and his Duduk.
The creative documentary tells the story of an impressive sound, which became the voice of Millions of Armenians and the ultimate challenge for a young man, Djivan Gasparyan Junior, the Maestro’s grandson. He returned from California to Armenia to learn the art of playing the Duduk. Music is at the core of the storytelling, as it is through this music, that people living in the diaspora all over the world feel united: it evokes memories and connects from generation to generation; it is in this music that one can recognize the power of a denied identity.
